Ipsy VS. Birchbox ~ October

Ipsy vs. Birchbox

I thought it would be fun to compare my Birchbox and my Ipsy glam bag this month. As many of you already know, the price is the same for both subscriptions at just $10 a month. It is so hard for me to say which one I prefer because they are so different in my opinion. I will start by showing you my October Birchbox. Here are the goods.

Birchbox

I received the following.
Mally Beauty High-Shine Liquid Lipstick Pen in Petal to the Metal

Essentiel Elements Wake Up Rosemary Shower Gel

dr. brandt® pores no more® vacuum cleaner™

ModelCo Power Lash Long Wear Black Mascara

Harvey Prince Petaly Noir

Overall I am extremely happy with my Birchbox this month. My favorite item was the Harvey Prince Petaly Noir perfume. I actually want to buy the full size when it becomes available in the Birchbox shop.

Here is my Ipsy glam bag.

Ipsy

I received the following.

ECRU New York Acacia Protein BB Cream Beauty Balm for Hair

Figs & Rouge Hand Cream in Mango Mandarin

Jesse’s Girl Mineralized Baked Shadow Powder in Graphite Frost

noyah Lipstick in Deeply in Mauve

Skyn Iceland Mini Glacial Cleansing Cloths

Blue Glam Bag

I actually cancelled my Ipsy bag after viewing my glam room because I was so disappointed in the products I was receiving. As soon as I opened the bag and could play with my new Ipsy goodies I immediately re subscribed. I actually love all of the products in this month’s bag and my favorite would have to be the lipstick. The pretty shade of mauve is just perfect for me. Overall this bag was a win!

A&M Treasure Box ~ October

A&M Treasure Box is a subscription box that arrives every month which contains 2-3 trendy, hand-picked pieces of jewelry. They were kind enough to send me a box to review and here are the goods.

A&M Treasure box has two boxes to choose from. The ‘Whoa Baby’ Everyday Box costs $22 per month, and the ‘Whoa Baby’ Glam Box costs $27 per month. Here is a description of the two boxes straight from the website.

What is the difference between the ‘Whoa Baby’ Everyday Box and the ‘Whoa Baby’ Glam Box?

The ‘Whoa Baby’ Everyday Box includes 2-3 trendy, simple and dainty jewelry pieces that can be worn on the regular. These pieces are a bit subtle.
The ‘Whoa Baby’ Glam Box includes 2-3 stunning, stylish and modern pieces that can go from day to night. These pieces are bold.

I was sent the Everyday box to review and I was so happy with all of the pieces in this box. My absolute favorite piece in this box would have to be those chunky gold gem stud earrings. I am typically a hoop wearer but these earrings are so big and beautiful that I instantly fell in love. The gold and orange pendant necklace is very pretty and perfect for Fall. I also loved the hammered cuff but sadly it’s just not for me. I usually don’t wear cuffs or large bracelets so this beautiful piece will be going to my sister.

Overall this box is a win. The jewelry in this subscription box is very similar to the jewelry I would buy for myself. I think that the $22 price point on this box makes it a very affordable way to update your jewelry box with some fun fashion pieces.

Try It Thursday ~ Jamberry Nail Wraps

Try It Thursday!

Try It Thursday!

Good morning. Try It Thursday is back and this week I had the pleasure of testing Jamberry nails. A friend of mine put me in touch with a consultant on Facebook and I requested a sample. Here are the goods.

Jamberry

Jamberry

Just in case you are unfamiliar with the brand Jamberry Nails are nail wraps that are sold through independent sales consultants.
I was sent a catalog along with five sample wraps to try. As you can see in my picture , I chose the flower wrap and used it as an accent nail.
The application was easy. I cleaned my nail with nail polish remover, cut the wrap to the size that I needed, peeled the wrap off of the sheet, warmed it for a few seconds with my hair dryer, pressed it to my nail, trimmed and filed off the excess, and then I hit it with heat one more time to bond it to my nail.

The Jamberry nail wrap lasted six days. That is four days longer than the nail polish. I think that is pretty decent for this gal. I have a bad habit of nail picking when I get nervous, which is pretty much all of the time…Ha! I was so impressed with my results that I bought a set of wraps for $15 and I applied them to my toes. They have been on since Sunday and I’m pretty sure they are going to last much longer on my toes than they did on my nails.

The Jamberry Nail wraps are a win for me and now I understand what all of the hype is about. If you would like to visit Desi’s Jamberry store please http://desiadkins.jamberrynails.net/shop. You can also visit her Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/desiadkinsjamberry.

The Boodle Box ~ October

The October Boodle Box was delivered yesterday and as usual this box did not disappoint. It was packed full of fall goodies and let me just say my daughter LOVED it! We subscribe to the Boodle two box. Here are the goods.

I love that The Boodle box included so many great accessories this month. My favorite item is the bling ghost necklace. That little sparkly ghost is so stinking cute! My daughter immediately planned today’s outfit around the chevron scarf and matching watch. She also wanted to test out that fun egg mold but sadly we are out of eggs. Overall this box is a HUGE win and every item in this spooky themed box will be used…. a lot!

This box had a value of $79.42! That is a fantastic value! I only pay $19.99 a month because I signed up for the 6 month subscription which includes free shipping.

This past weekend I was lucky enough to host a Birchbox and Benefit Cosmetics Beauty Bash. 1500 Women across the country won a Beauty Bash party in a box and here are a few pictures of the party.

My Wing Women and I had a blast and I would just like to take a minute and thank Birchbox and Benefit Cosmetics for giving me the opportunity to host such an amazing party!

Were any of you lucky enough to host your very own Beauty Bash or did you attend one?
